Complementary Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Operating Rooms and Intensive Care services allow for very precise diagnoses, thus ensuring a successful treatment.

Currently, all procedures evidenced in Medical Literature as accurate, safe and effective for the treatment of musculoskeletal pathologies are performed.

Foot and Ankle

Fundación Valle del Lili’s Orthopedics and Traumatology service has a multidisciplinary team of orthopedists in all subspecialties: Trauma, Oncology, Spine, Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Hip, Knee and Foot.

Regarding the Ankle and Foot Subespecialty, surgeons specialized in minimally invasive surgery (small skin incisions) are available, offering ankle arthroscopy and mini-incision surgery for feet repair, which has the following advantages: reduced disability time, reduced pain, and gait recovery from the very day of the surgery.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a conservative treatment (non-invasive) applied for some pathologies which do not respond to other treatments, such as physiotherapy or infiltration. This therapy is indicated in different pathologies: lateral and medial epicondylitis (tennis and golfer’s elbow), patellar tendinopathy (jumper’s knee), and Achilles tendinopathy or calcific tendinopathy of the shoulder.

This treatment is also indicated in inflammatory conditions, such as plantar fasciitis (heel spur) and trochanteric bursitis. Finally, it may help in the treatment of fractures that have not healed properly (nonunion / pseudoarthrosis).

Stem Cells therapy for Arthrosis

It uses bone marrow concentrate aspirate, which contains a percentage of stem cells, for its application in arthrotic joints or in joint erosion. Currently, its is performed for main joints treatment, shoulder, hip or knee joints. These cells and their growth factors have an anti-inflammatory action within the joints, and they also have a regenerative potential.

Sports medicine

Sport medicine provides treatment for bone, joint, tendon and muscle injuries caused by physical activity. Medical treatment or physiotherapy may be indicated, as well as advice for physical training. Sometimes, surgical treatment may be necessary, such as an arthroscopy, where a camera is introduced to allow complete visualization of the joint through small incisions. Usually, knees, shoulders and ankles are mostly affected by sports activity.

Arthroscopy

Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure where a camera is used to have a complete view of the joint and allows for performing procedures impossible in the past, when there was no possibility to check the joint completely.

Anterior cruciate ligament, meniscus and joint cartilage may be reconstructed in Knee Surgery, and reconstruction and suturing of the rotator cuff and other shoulder instabilities management are possible today in Shoulder Surgery as routinary procedures through arthroscopy.

At Fundación Valle del Lili, we have a Joint Surgery Plan, where arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery are available, offering benefits to patients in comprehensive treatments. Our Service stays at the forefront of biological technologies and new advances in surgical techniques.

Procedures such as cartilage transplants and suturing and biological treatments are performed under the highest quality standards and the best scientific evidence. Our Service acknowledges the importance of an integrated management of patients, in order to offer them the best therapeutic option and improve their quality of life.

Hand Surgery

Three specialists are available at Fundación Valle del Lili’s Hand Surgery Service for the treatment of hand and upper extremity pathologies originated by traumatic, congenital or degenerative alterations in the musculoskeletal system. Three specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our specialists are experienced in the treatment of highly complex traumatic injuries, such as: replantation of amputated upper extremity segments, a well as multiple and complex trauma surgery in the upper extremities.

Additionally, we have enough operative capacity for upper extremity reconstruction procedures and brachial plexus reconstruction; also specialized treatment is provided for pediatric patients with congenital malformations in hands and fingers.
