What does this specialty do?
Pediatric Rheumatology focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system and systemic autoimmune diseases in children and adolescents. These conditions, in which the immune system attacks the body's own tissues, affect approximately one in every thousand children under 18 and account for 8 to 10% of emergency room visits in specialized centers, as well as up to 25% of pediatric hospitalizations.

- Laboratories specializing in hematology, clinical chemistry, immunology and genetics.
- Imaging studies including conventional radiology, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine.

Exam preparation
No specific preparation is required for the consultation. However, the following is recommended:
