Fundación Valle del Lili has considered a priority having a special area where endoscopic procedures are performed as part of the services of integrated care for patients. These procedures should be carried out with the highest technological development and a multidisciplinary approach, aimed at providing services in different specialties, responding to the community needs. At present, it is one of the largest units in Colombia and Latin America, with high standards of patient safety, quality service, technological progress and humanized care.
This service and every procedure carried out are addressed to adult and pediatric patients requiring diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, for supporting the management of gastrointestinal, colon and rectum, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, urological, gynecological, pneumological and otorhinolaryngologic diseases, as well as difficult airway management.

Digestive physiology (pH-impedance measurement and high-resolution esophageal and anorectal manometry), gastroscopy, colonoscopy, percutaneous gastrostomy, band ligation of esophageal varices, sclerotherapy, argon plasma coagulation therapy, esophageal and colorectal dilation, stenting, therapeutic ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography), gastric, pancreatic and colonic endosonography, Video Capsule Endoscopy, enteroscopy, polypectomy, endoscopic resection of tumors in the gastric and colonic mucosa, intragastric balloons placement and hemorrhoid banding.
Diagnostic bronchoscopy with bronchoalveolar lavage, therapeutic bronchoscopy, bronchoscopic dilatation, endobronchial endosonography (EBUS).
Difficult Airway management:
Comprehensive evaluation of the upper airway, bronchoscopy, stroboscopy.
Nasofibrolaryngoscopy, laryngeal stroboscopy.
Cystoscopy, urethral dilatation, uroflowmetry, urodynamics, videourodynamics and lithotripsy.
Colposcopy, endometrial biopsy and conization.

Five gastroenterologists, two gastrointestinal surgeons, two adult coloproctologists, three pediatric gastroenterologists, two pediatric surgeons, three adult pneumologists, two pediatric pneumologists, five urologists, three gynecologists, seven otolaryngologists, two surgeons specialized in difficult airway management, one head and neck surgeon. Also, several anesthesiologists and general practitioners certified in sedation support our procedures.
Finally, a team of nurses and trained nursing assistants specialized in this field provide their support.
Fundación Valle del Lili is nationally recognized for having one of the largest and most modern endoscopy services in Latin America. It has 10 procedure rooms, a team of 37 medical specialists with high academic qualifications and research commitment, highly trained healthcare and administrative personnel, as well as cutting-edge technology and an adequate physical infrastructure for providing medical attention to our patients.

Other procedures performed in the endoscopy service include: electrocautery, argon plasma coagulation, and CryoProbes; also, the possibility of using devices such as stents, valves or coils for a comprehensive management of oncological and non-oncological patients, providing prompt and effective management in the different phases of lung disease (diagnosis, treatment and palliation).
Additionally, endobronchial ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (EBUS-FNA) is available (the only one in Cali), a specialized, minimally invasive procedure designed to evaluate upper airways and take samples beyond the tracheobronchial wall, for the analysis and staging of lung cancer, diagnosis of other masses or pulmonary lesions as well as for therapeutic bronchoscopy.
