Target population

Patients between 0 and 18 years old.

The service is responsible for the surgical situations of childhood, from birth to adolescence, including congenital anomalies and conditions acquired during their early years.

Assessment and management are provided in the outpatient clinic, also pediatric emergencies requiring surgical interventions are managed.

The services offered include:

  • Neonatal surgery.
  • Colorectal surgery.
  • Pediatric chest surgery.
  • Gastrointestinal surgery.
  • Oncologic surgery.
  • Minimally invasive surgery.
  • Endoscopy and bronchoscopy in patients with surgical conditions.
  • The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • All laboratory diagnosis methods and diagnostic imaging technologies are available.
  • This specialty is supported by other pediatric multidisciplinary services; surgery, hospitalization neonatal and pediatric intensive care departments provide their services.
  • The most relevant features of the Pediatric surgery team are communication, teamwork and their experience in both open surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
