Pediatric surgery is a medical specialty that focuses on the surgical treatment of conditions and diseases in children and adolescents. Pediatric surgeons are highly trained to address a wide variety of conditions, from congenital malformations to traumatic injuries and acquired diseases.
The main characteristic of the pediatric surgery team is communication, teamwork, and experience in both open and minimally invasive surgery.
We have five pediatric surgeons with specific training in pediatric oncological surgery and solid organ transplantation surgery within the abdomen.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We have access to all laboratory diagnostic methods and imaging techniques.
This specialty is supported by other multidisciplinary pediatric services, with access to operating rooms, hospitalization wards, and neonatal and pediatric intensive care units.
