The Neurosurgery Service has been in operation for 25 years at the Institution and attends both adult and pediatric patients requiring neurosurgical treatment, including cranioencephalic trauma and spinal cord injuries, intracranial hemorrhage, endocranial hypertension syndrome, congenital and degenerative spinal pathologies, lumbar pain, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, involuntary movements, spasticity, chronic pain and congenital craniofacial abnormalities.
The service has specialists and sub-specialists for each one of the above pathologies. Each patient’s management is discussed by the team and actions to be taken are decided by consensus.
The service has equipment of high technology, efficiency and accuracy, which ensures quality and patient safety during procedures.
