Maxillofacial surgery
Target population

Adults and pediatric patients with multiple pathologies are treated: patients with craniofacial and facial malformations, facial trauma patients with oral and facial pathologies and tumors, patients with jaws misalignment, mandibular prognathism, chin deviation, vertical maxillary excess, among others.

Additionally, facial cosmetic procedures are performed, with or without modification of the facial bone and soft tissues structure, in order to improve facial profiling, balance and symmetry. 

Treatments for temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders (maxillary and cranial joints) and other muscle conditions (facial muscles) are provided; aesthetic facial procedures (buccal fat removal or bichectomy), jowls fat removal, surgeries for lips augmentation or reduction using facial fillers, cosmetic surgery with simple implants for correcting congenital deformities, or trauma or tumor lesions; and cosmetic surgery for patients requiring to harmonize and balance facial proportion or thirds.

Patients with primary snoring or obstructive sleep apnea are treated through mandibular or chin advancement surgery and through the use of intraoral apparatus to have maxillary anterior position, widening airways and reducing snoring.

Oral pathologies (lingual frenulum in children, which does not allow a proper pronunciation), benign or malignant tumors of the mouth, treatment of malformations such as cleft lip or cleft palate. On the other hand, reconstruction of the jawbone anatomy is performed in cases of bone loss due to trauma or premature loss of teeth. Total jaw replacement surgery is performed using virtual planning and cutting-edge technology, to know exactly how to change the anatomy or replace for improving the patients’ quality of life through enhancement of mouth opening, swallowing, nutrition, etc.
