Target populationNewborn patients (0 days of age) and patients younger than 18 years of age.
The most frequent reason for consultation in pediatrics is to check the healthy child. The main objective of outpatient pediatric consultation is the child’s integral health.
Fundación Valle del Lili’s outpatient pediatric consultation service was founded in January 1994. Since then, it has worked to give comprehensive support to children and their families throughout their whole growth and development process. Children’s health is also influenced by environmental, family, nutritional and socioeconomic factors. Only through appropriate promotion and prevention can the child’s integral health be maintained.
Pediatric consultation is addressed to newborn patients (0 days of age) and patients younger than 18 years of age. In addition to healthy children medical checks, the service deals with pathologies common at pediatric age (Acute Rhinopharyngitis, Gastroenteric Syndrome, Asthma, Acute Otitis Media, Acute Bronchiolitis, among others).
13 general pediatricians directly affiliated with the Institution work full-time in the Outpatient pediatric service and 10 fully equipped pediatric offices are available to provide the service.
The outpatient pediatric consultation works in association with other pediatric subspecialties (the emergency department, as well as the pediatric infectology, pediatric gastroenterology, genetics, pediatric nephrology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric neurology, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric rheumatology, pediatric allergology and immunology departments, the neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit, and the cardiovascular intensive care unit), so that you will immediately have full support by a highly trained team using cutting-edge technology if your child’s condition requires it.
At each visit, a variety of screening procedures are indicated, as required according to the patient’s age group: metabolic, visual, auditory tests, screening for hip dysplasia, blood pressure measurement in patients older than 3 years or earlier if risk factors are identified. Also, prevention guides are given to the parents, in order to encourage caring of their children and reduce the risk of illness and/or death.
