Fundación Valle del Lili’s Cardiovascular Surgery Service for Adults, started operations in 1994. In 23 years, surgical interventions for heart diseases, including coronary revascularization, valve surgery, aortic surgery, surgery for cardiac arrhythmias and heart transplantation have been performed.
The cardiac transplant program has performed more than 200 heart transplants, thus improving the quality of life and prognosis of patients with terminal heart disease. It is worth mentioning that in recent years the cardiac surgery program with minimally invasive techniques was developed, rendering excellent results, prompt patient recovery, minimum transfusion requirements and no infections.
The Cardiovascular Surgery for Adults Service is available 24 hours all year long; it is continuously supported by a team of cardiovascular anesthesiologists trained in intraoperative echocardiography, Cardiology, Echocardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, blood bank, intensive care, Hemodynamics and specialists in extracorporeal circulation and life support.
Due to the type of referrals from other clinics and EPS institutions in the region, a significant experience has been developed in aortic surgery, high-complexity surgery and heart failure surgery.
Processes for pre- and post-operative management of patients are defined with the support of an interdisciplinary team. In addition, the service provides the benefits of Fundación Valle del Lili’s cutting-edge technology.
