Perioperative medicine, an emergent medical discipline consisting of an integrative proposal for the patient, considers permanent accompaniment from the moment in which a diagnosis is confirmed until a patient returns to his/her daily activities. Acute pain management is one of the cornerstones in quality perioperative care, which needs no introduction and becomes an essential aspect of the patient’s early return to his/her daily activities as well as his/her self-care.
For this reason, Fundación Valle del Lili invites you to XIII CURSO TALLER DE ACTUALIZACIÓN EN ANESTESIA Y MEDICINA PERIOPERATORIA [WORKSHOP FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN ANESTHESIA AND PERIOPERATIVE MEDICINE] 2019, to be held next Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18. This edition will focus on important aspects of anesthesiology and hospital practice. Local and national experts participating in the event will address a variety of topics of interest: perioperative risk assessment and optimization, management of critical complications in anesthesiology and intensive care settings, as well as strategies to prevent and comprehensively address acute perioperative pain.

On Friday, May 17, there will be lectures for professional development in Fluid Therapy by Dr. Fernando Montoya (Pereira), in Multimodal Pain and Analgesia by Jorge Rubio (Medellín) and Viviana Gutiérrez (Barranquilla) among others. On Saturday, May 18, workshops on malignant hyperthermia, critical pulmonary events, perioperative coronary events and total intravenous anesthesia will be carried out.
