The System of Quality Indicators and Early Warning strategy or mechanisms aims at collecting, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating variables of opportunity, accessibility, continuity, relevance and security in healthcare and the provision of health services, in order to identify immediately arising shortcomings or problems, which will help in plans for adopting corrections and timely solutions. Similarly, its purpose is optimizing healthcare outcomes, by developing improvement actions in the mandatory system of Quality Assurance of Health Care (Sistema Obligatorio de Garantía de la Calidad de Atención en Salud, SOGCS) of the General Social Security System in Health.
Additionally, the System will guide users in their knowledge of the characteristics, opportunity levels and other aspects of Health and EAPB service providers, related to healthcare and the provision of health services, in the exercise of the Health System users’ rights and duties.
