The Dermatology Service at Fundación Valle del Lili has been an integral part of our institution since its beginnings, constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of the community. Our commitment is to provide personalised and excellent care to patients with skin, hair and nail conditions. We focus on disease prevention as well as maintaining and restoring skin health.
We offer a wide range of services, including outpatient consultations, teleconsultations, outpatient surgery, a phototherapy unit, Mohs surgery and Fotona SP laser, as well as the latest diagnostic and treatment equipment to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Dermatology: We offer dermatological consultations with highly trained dermatologists, specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. Our primary goal is to provide effective control and promote healing of skin conditions, including the management of highly complex pathologies such as intrinsic skin diseases and cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases. We are characterized by our comprehensive approach to patients, both in the outpatient and inpatient dermatology settings.
Dermatologic Surgery and Skin Cancer: We specialize in the management of skin cancer, addressing different types of malignant skin tumors, such as basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma, as well as precancerous lesions and benign skin tumors. Our goal is to provide our patients with comprehensive and effective treatment.
Additionally, we have high-complexity procedures that allow us to precisely address various types of skin cancer. Some of the available procedures include:
Nd:YAG and Erbium:YAG Laser Treatment: Thanks to advanced technology that combines two types of lasers on a single platform, we can treat with the Fotona SP laser from inflammatory conditions such as acne and rosacea to more specific problems such as scars, ulcers, various benign lesions, hair stimulation, refractory onychomycosis, and other treatments. We also offer solutions for skin rejuvenation in the aesthetic field.
Aesthetic Dermatology: Skin rejuvenation, botulinum toxin application, hyaluronic acid, spot treatment, among others.
Trichology: This is the area specialized in diagnosing and treating diseases of the hair and scalp.
Minor Surgical Procedures: Skin biopsies, cryotherapy, electrofulguration of benign lesions, infiltration with various intralesional medications, resection of malignant and benign tumors, moles, and cysts with excellent aesthetic results.
Dermatopathology: Study of diseases of the skin, mucous membranes, appendages, hair, and nails through microscopic analysis, as well as other related techniques including immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence.
Phototherapy: This is a treatment that applies ultraviolet light to the skin. Narrowband UVB is available and can be used in psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic dermatitis, cutaneous lymphomas, lichen planus, among others.
Onychology: This involves the diagnosis and treatment of nail pathologies, including benign and malignant tumors, infectious pathologies caused by fungi, viruses, and bacteria, as well as inflammatory nail diseases such as psoriasis and lichen planus. Conservative and surgical procedures for onychocryptosis (ingrown toenail), nail biopsies, among others.
Our dermatology service is characterised by a team of highly qualified specialists, trained in subspecialties that allow a precise and specialised approach to each dermatological condition.
We have experts in dermatopathology, phototherapy, oncological dermatology, dermatological surgery, trichology, dermatological imaging, aesthetic dermatology and onychology, which allows us to offer more accurate diagnoses and personalized treatments according to the needs of each patient.
It is advisable to schedule an annual visit to the dermatologist so they can assess the condition of your skin and ensure it remains healthy. It is important to maintain constant monitoring of skin health.
However, visits to the dermatologist should not be limited to that annual appointment. If you notice any problems with your skin, hair, or nails, it is crucial to seek care as soon as possible.
Remember that your dermatologist is trained to evaluate and treat a wide range of dermatological conditions of cutaneous origin, but also as a manifestation of systemic diseases.
