Environmental management system

Environmental management system

Under the Corporate Social Responsibility framework, the Environmental Management System of our Institution has been implemented according to the standards of Physical Environment Management of the Health Accreditation System and the Colombian Technical Standard NTC ISO 14001, covering all processes and guaranteeing procedures for the identification, evaluation and improvement of environmental management plans, considering the following objectives:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Prevent, minimize and control contaminants generation.
  • Promote a cleaner production and the rational use of natural resources.
  • Increase energy efficiency and cleaner fuel use.
  • Implement options for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Environmental Management is managed and led by the Department of Maintenance and Environment and is cross-functional to all the institutional processes, allowing for care and conservation of the environment in a systematic and functional way.

The Foundation is committed to the study and implementation of the best environmental practices, as well as to the participation in collaborative processes with other institutions regarding environmental management. For this reason, our Foundation joined the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Community for Health Care without Harm in Latin America.
